Children reach puberty at very different ages, which is why often there is a big size difference between friends who are the same age.

For Girls …

In girls, the first sign of puberty is usually the appearance of breast buds, which can happen any time between age 8 and 13.

For Boys …

For boys the first sign of puberty is usually the testicles getting bigger, followed by the appearance of pubic hair. This happens between the age of 9 and 14 for most boys.
